A resume holds your name, contact details and work history. Here is exactly what happens to it on this site.
The checker runs on your device
When you upload a PDF, DOCX or TXT file, it is opened and read by code running in your browser. The file is not uploaded to our servers for the checks, the score or the keyword comparison. Close the tab and it’s gone.
Optional AI features
Buttons such as “Get AI review”, “Extract must-have keywords”, “Generate bullet points”, “Write my summary” and “Get AI feedback” send the relevant text (for example the extracted resume text and a job ad) to our server once, which passes it to an AI model via Vercel AI Gateway to generate the answer. ResumeATS does not store or log that text, and nothing is sent until you press one of those buttons. Remove anything you don’t want to share, such as your phone number, before using them.
Stored in your browser
The resume template saves what you type in your browser’s local storage so you can come back to it. It never leaves your device.
Analytics
We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless and does not see the content of your resume or anything you type.
No accounts
There is nothing to sign up for, and we don’t collect email addresses.
